I found this fabulous site that made me feel good about not being the only one duped into thinking VZW was an acceptable cell phone co. Boy, was I wrong! My phone is probably a year old. In all the other years I've had a cell phone, the battery hasn't run out as quickly as this one had. I have to charge it daily because it hardly holds one for very long. I went to the local store to get a replacement battery. I thought the dude knew what he was doing because he pulled up my account on the computer and proceeded to order me a new battery. At $40, it was worth as much as the actual freakin' phone. Therein lies ripoff #1.
The eagerly-anticipated package arrived today and I couldn't wait to replace my battery. However, much to my chagrin, it was the WRONG battery. Frustrated, I decided to go to another VZ store to exchange the damn thing. I mean, I already paid for it, how difficult could it be to exchange it for one that actually works on my phone?! I should have known...
I don't know how many employees they had working in there, but the ratio seemed to be 1-1. Again, how difficult would it be to exchange one thing for another? Especially at a main store? This, my friends, is the phenomenon known as VZW's customer "service." I walked in and was greeted by some lackey at a computer. He asked me what my issue was and I was hopeful that he was going to be able to help me right then and there. Wrong-o. He merely put me into the computer where I was "queued" into being called upon when my turn came up. In the meantime, there were various customers milling about. A couple wanting new phones; a gentleman wanting a new plan; parents with kids contemplating the headache of getting their child a cellphone. What I found "interesting" the longer I waited, was that the employees weren't helping customers 1-1, some were standing in front of terminals madly typing away at what either seemed like a novel being written or a frantic game of brick breaker. One customer had 3 sales reps "helping" him with his transaction. I don't know what kind of cellphone he bought, but it must have been the shiznit to have one person ring him up, one person tell him how to work it, and the other typing madly away on a terminal while throwing casual glances his way. (See photo below.) Either that, or between the three of them, there had to be at least one cumulative brain cell with which to function.
What should have been a 1-2 minute exchange for me never occurred. After waiting over 30 minutes, I realized that I had only moments to pick up my son from tutoring. I approached the lackey at the entrance again and expressed my urgency. I kid you not, he handed me a blank post-it and told me to approach the customer service center and tell them that I was "in a hurry." I guess the blank post-it made me look "official" or most certainly certifiably crazy. Nevertheless, it didn't work. Not only did I waste 30 minutes of my life there, but I still have no cell phone battery and I was one pissed-off [still dieting, still cranky because of it] customer! Lethal combination.
I hate VZW. Once my contract is up, I'm switching. But not before I tell them exactly where I think they should stick their network!
Does anyone know how far one could go with what they say bad about VW . I'm thinking of bumper stickers that say

I agree, there bastards!!!!!
I was in the middle of my contract, and my phone broke! It broke so bad it wasnt covered under the warrenty I have been buying for 12 months. So I forked out the 300.00 for the new phone.
I choose the paper free, online payment option. and usually just press the pay now button. Everyone I talk to or text has a verizion phone, and I really dont use it very

If anyone has seen the new "Samsung Omnia" for 50% OFF on there TV commercials, then you were probably enticed. I know I was, but when I went online to order my new Samsung Omnia, I discovered that Verizon Wireless has changed their policy about PDA phones, and not just the before mentioned, ALL PDA phones are now REQUIRED to have an additional $30 or for unlimited $50 a MONTH!

[this is good] Verizon sucks alright! Problems with the new phones stopped me from paying. When I wouldn't pay their outrageous extortion fees they shut off my phones. Couldn't care less really, already had other service, but here's the clincher ... when I told the customer care rep that I wouldn't pay nor do I want the service restored she said .... are you ready for this, "Well then, the calls will keep coming". Collection depts need to get a tight grip on themselves, can you imagine that "Well then, the collection calls will keep coming!" They can call me every hour on the hour, I won't yield to extortion! Their phones suck and they suck too!

I had problems with over five new phones that they sent me, one after the other. Then I started having reception issues so I stopped paying my monthly bill. After two months of talking with customer service it was agreed that I would be let out of my contract without an early cancellation fee if I paid the remaining balance to close the account. I paid the remaining balance and what do I have on my statement even though my account is nonexistant, a $150 early cancellation fee. After fighting with them for over a month now about this, I give up. I hope they pay the money to take me to a collection agency and put it against my credit report. They aren't conning me out of anymore money. SCREW THIS COMPANY!!!

I have been facing a lot of problems and I am really fed up with the cell phone and its bounding contract. I found the best solution as to swap the cell phone. It got rid of my contract payment fee and got a good amount as well. Just check out the different plans in www.cellswapper.com and you will also find a perfect match.
I helped the other guy to grab a good offer as well.

I am among the thousands of unhappy Verizon Wireless customers. Recieved a Blackberry Storm by mail. Activated by an in store representative, only to later find out that I was being billed for a Data Plan subscription that I was not informed of beforehand, and that I did not accept. Attempted to return the phone numerous times, and have dealt with Customer Care a half a dozen times. Its been 8 months.
Finally I discovered how to reach the Executive Relations team at Verizon Wireless. They are the only ones who can help resolve your problem, short of having an attorney contact them. BTW, I subscribe to Pre-Paid Legal for $35 a month, and their attorneys at no additional charge, will contact Verizon Wireless. Find me on twitter.com/verizoncustomer .
Share your experiences online and then email me at verizon.sucks@yahoo.com . I will forward you important contact information to reach the real decision makers at Verizon Wireless, the Executive Relations team.

I have had the misfortune of dealing with all the whiny bastards that have service with Verizon, and having worked at other large companies, can honestly say VZW customers SUCK!!! One of my customers tried to argue that a phone under a 2yr contract was not free. WTF does he expect? a phone w no strings attached? this isn't goodwill people it's a business! ur trying to be an intellectual? get a life
